Texting While Driving

I was just reading an article on texting while driving. It seemed kind of sad to me because it said that in the past 5 years, about 100 teenagers have died while texting and driving just in New York City and Long Island. While that number may not be all that great, the number keeps on rising each year and that tells us that something needs to change.
Texting can be useful and a good tool for communication if there isn't much service, but while driving, really, it should be put away. It's so dangerous; not only for the driver, but the others on the road.
This is a case where technology is not all that useful.

  1. I am certainly guilty of texting and driving. And luckily have not gotten into an accident, or even close to getting into an accident. But I really need to be more careful when I drive. My little sister just recently showed me a wicked intense youtube video about texting and driving.

  2. That IS an intense video. I couldn't even sit through the whole thing. I'm very thankful that I'm a "scaredy cat" driver. I may drive like your grandmother, but I also know that I'll never get into an accident like that. I won't even answer my phone while I'm driving. I'll pull over. Maybe I'm overly cautious, but I'm just saying... that will likely never be me in the video. (At least, as a result of texting... and knock on wood!)
